Winter is about to hit the port city, with chilly, high-speed winds and low temperatures from tomorrow (Tuesday), according to the Early Warning Centre  and the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

According to the forecast, the wind is expected to turn cold from December 3 to 4 in Karachi, leading to temperatures dropping to 16 to 18 degrees Celsius and wintry weather conditions.

“Within two to three days, Karachi would experience potential cold winds blowing from Balochistan East, following the temperature is expected to decline to 16°C," the weather center said.

Apart from this, the Centre also predicted light rain or drizzling for ruler Sindh, with “Qambar Shahdad Kot, Larkana, and Jacobabad would have a shower by today,” it added.

Other districts of the province are anticipated to experience dry weather with cool nights, while fog is also likely in the districts of upper Sindh in the morning.

However, in late October, the PDM forecasted that residents in Karachi would experience an even shorter winter this year, with little to no signs of wintry conditions in the first 8 to 10 days of November.

Additionally, the Met Office also predicted above-normal temperatures for Karachi from October to December, which further diminished the chances of a good winter.
