The nation observed Youm-e-Tashakur on Friday to celebrate the defence agreement recently signed between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Special prayers were held during Friday congregations in the country for the success of the agreement, as well as for the safety and prosperity of both countries.

Speaking at Youm-e-Tashakur gathering in Lahore, Chairman of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Maulana Abdul Kabir Azad described the agreements as “historic” and said the entire nation was observing the day with gratitude.

Paying tribute to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and Pakistan’s leadership, he said: “Our bond with the Haramain Sharifain is rooted in the Kalima Tayyaba. Protecting the sanctity of the holy mosques is part of our faith.”

He further remarked that the agreements had strengthened Pakistan’s standing globally, adding: “This pact has worried Israel, but it has raised the flag of Pakistan even higher.”

Highlighting Pakistan’s defence ties, Maulana Azad praised Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, stating that he had stood as a “wall of steel” against India. “For three hours, we showed the world that we are the nation of Takbir and Allahu Akbar,” he said.

Addressing the Saudi leadership, Maulana Azad added: “Every child of Pakistan is ready to defend the Haramain Sharifain. We want to send a message to enemy forces that falsehood will perish and truth will prevail."

He also warned those who attack the state, calling such acts a “major sin” and declaring that “there is no place in this country for such elements.”

Meanwhile in Peshawar, a special prayer was offered at the historic Mahabat Khan Mosque, led by Chief Khateeb Maulana Tayyab Muhammad Qureshi. He prayed for Pakistan’s security and said: “We are proud that Allah has chosen Pakistan for the protection of Haramain Sharifain."
