Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Benazir Bhutto’s daughter Aseefa Bhutto Zardari’s unopposed election from NA-202 in the by-election held on Friday solidified the Zardari family's prominent position in parliament, with the highest number of elected members.

With Zardari's children Bilawal and Aseefa entering parliament, and his two sisters, Faryal Talpur and Azra Pechuho, elected to the provincial legislature of Sindh, the family's political influence has expanded.

PPP co-chairman's brother-in-law, Munawar Talpur, secured a seat in the National Assembly in the February 8 polls, bringing the total family members in the country's assemblies to six, breaking the Sharif family's record.

On the other hand, the Sharif family has only four seats in the National and provincial legislatures; PM Shehbaz and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz hold seats in the NA, while CM Maryam is the lawmaker of the Punjab Assembly.

Consequently, in the realm of having the highest number of family members elected as MNA or MPA, President Zardari's family takes the lead, followed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's family in second place.
