China has begun using robots to help manage traffic control in the eastern city of Hangzhou, according to Chinese media reports.
Authorities in the city, located in China’s eastern province of Zhejiang, have deployed smart traffic robots to assist tourists and support traffic management operations.
Equipped with advanced technology, the robots are designed to help enforce traffic regulations, discourage drivers from honking, and even offer well-wishes to students taking examinations.
The robotic units are integrated with the local traffic management system, allowing them to assist in monitoring road activity and identifying violations.
According to reports, the robots are capable of detecting offences such as cyclists crossing stop lines and riders failing to wear helmets, highlighting a growing use of automation in urban traffic enforcement
