X (formerly Twitter) is taking a significant step towards becoming a “super app,” similar to China’s WeChat, with the introduction of XMoney.
The new payment service, which is slated for launch in 2025, aims to streamline financial transactions directly within the social media platform.
XMoney is designed to facilitate a range of payment options for users, allowing them to send and receive money seamlessly through the app.
The service will be integrated with Visa Direct, a partnership announced by X CEO Linda Yaccarino, enabling users to process payments using debit cards and transfer money to their bank accounts.
According to XMoney’s official account, the platform will support various financial transactions, providing an all-in-one solution for users’ financial needs.
This move is part of X’s broader strategy to expand its services beyond social media, creating a comprehensive ecosystem for daily activities such as messaging, payments, and more.
