Meta has started rolling out Instagram’s new year-in-review feature, offering users the chance to create a 2024 Collage through the Create a Story section.
This feature enables users to gather their most memorable moments from the past year, curate them, and display their best content in one collage. Users can easily swap and select which posts to showcase.
Instagram’s updates this year have also included significant platform-wide changes. Meta introduced a political content filter, allowing users to exclude political posts from their feeds, though some users have reported issues with the feature’s functionality.
Additionally, Meta made efforts to improve Instagram for teens. Instead of launching a separate app, Instagram adjusted its main platform, setting teen accounts to private by default, suggesting "Take a Break" reminders, and restricting access to sensitive content.
Instagram's focus on short-form content also remained unchanged, with CEO Adam Mosseri emphasizing the continued importance of Reels despite user demand for longer videos.
The new year-in-review feature and 2024 Collage offer users a chance to reflect on their highlights from the year, marking another update to Instagram’s evolving user experience.
