WhatsApp simplifies voice note recording with one-tap feature

WhatsApp is set to introduce a key update to its voice note feature, aimed at making the recording process faster and more user-friendly.

According to details, users will soon be able to record voice messages with a single tap, eliminating the need for the current two-step process.

Presently, users either press and hold the microphone button for short recordings or swipe up to lock it for longer messages.

With the new update, the microphone lock will activate automatically upon tapping, allowing users to record without holding the button or swiping.

This change is expected to streamline communication and save users' time by reducing unnecessary gestures.

While the updated feature may initially feel unfamiliar to some users, early feedback from beta testers suggests it quickly becomes intuitive.

The update is currently available to select iOS beta testers through version 25.13.10.70 on TestFlight, with a wider rollout planned in the coming weeks.

Meta aims to enhance WhatsApp's daily usability through such improvements, aligning with broader efforts to make its platforms more seamless and efficient.
