17-year-old newlywed girl found dead on rooftop in Karachi’s Defence Phase 5

A 17-year-old newlywed girl was found dead on the rooftop of a house in Defence Phase 5, Karachi's Badar Commercial area on Monday, according to the police.

According to officials, the deceased, identified as Zainab, was originally from Sialkot and had married only a month ago. She had been staying at her husband’s aunt’s house for the past few days.

Police stated that Zainab’s husband, who serves in a law-enforcement agency, was not at home at the time of the incident. Authorities recorded the statements of the husband’s aunt and cousin as part of the inquiry.

The body was shifted for medico-legal procedures, while police launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
