2-year-old brother, 6-year-old sister killed after being raped in Karachi

A gruesome incident took place in Karachi, where a 2-year-old brother and his six-year-old sister were raped and murdered by unknown suspects in Maripur area.

Police said that the bodies of a 25-year-old woman and her two children were found from a drain near their home in Sher Muhammad village on June 29.

The post-mortem examination revealed that the two minors were raped and strangled to death, the law enforcers added.

According to Police Surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed, the post-mortem confirmed that both the minor victims were raped, while the 6-year-old girl was sexually abused in a "brutal" manner.

The health official further informed that the death of the victims was not natural but the exact cause of death will be ascertained after the final reports.

DIG South Syed Asad Raza also confirmed that the woman and her children were strangled to death, and the mother had injury marks on her head.

The marks indicated that she had been stabbed with a sharp instrument, he added.

The police official said a case was registered against unknown suspects on the complaint of the victim woman's husband.

The complainant told the police that his wife, along with two children, had left their house to seek spiritual treatment from a religious healer, Mehran Bibi on June 28.

However, police are investigating the matter to arrest the main culprit behind the heinous crime.
