A case has been registered following the detection of explosive materials that were recovered from the Baldia Rais Goth region of Karachi.

The terrorists were preparing a truck to carry out terrorist actions in the city. During the raid, 2,000 kilograms of explosive materials, over 30 drums, as well as five cylinders, were confiscated.

Two other accomplices have also been apprehended based on identification from one of the suspects. The terrorists arrested are aligned with the proscribed organization BLA’s Commander Bashir group.

The case, according to reports, involves charges under the Anti-Terrorism Act and the Explosives Act, among others.

Sindh Interior Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar disclosed that the terrorists, who had been arrested from Baldia Rais Goth, were planning to attack civilians in a crucial location in Karachi. The entire network would be brought to the fore, as said by Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar.

However, DIG CTD Sindh Ghulam Azfar Mahesar, appearing in the private program, revealed that the arrested suspects revealed that the explosive substance had been secretly sent from Balochistan to Karachi through various routes.

Ghulam Azfar Mahesar said that the terrorists’ objective was to damage Karachi’s economic activities and convey the message that the city is unsafe.

He added that there is no cause for concern, as all explosive material has been recovered and those who were supposed to carry out suicide attacks have also been arrested. He said further arrests would be made within the next 24 hours.
