Elderly man brutally tortured in Bahawalpur, abuse shown live to son abroad

An inhuman incident unfolded in Bahawalpur, where an influential individual, known as Asif Don, along with his accomplices, brutally tortured an elderly man and showed the ordeal to the victim’s son living abroad.

The video of the incident surfaced online, sparking public outrage and prompting swift action by the police.

According to reports, the incident took place within the jurisdiction of Qaimpur Police Station in Bahawalpur. Asif Don, along with his accomplices, allegedly abducted 85-year-old Hafiz Sajid at gunpoint and took him to their private camp.

There, the victim was subjected to severe physical torture until he lost consciousness.

The details revealed that the suspects later revived the elderly man only to resume the torture.

During the ordeal, they made a video call to his son abroad and showed the live abuse, taunting him and challenging him to "come and rescue your father if you can." The son, devastated and helpless, could only watch in horror as his father was beaten.

After the video surfaced, police launched an immediate operation and arrested the suspects. A First Information Report (FIR) was registered, and an investigation is underway. Authorities have also assured the victim’s family of full protection.

Speaking to the media, Hafiz Sajid demanded justice and called for the harshest punishment for the accused so that “no one in the future dares to commit such atrocities.”
