ISLAMABAD: Family sources of former Chief of Army Staff, Gen (R) Qamar Javed Bajwa, stated that he did not slip but lost consciousness due to a heart electrical system issue, causing a temporary block.
Sources said that false information has been circulating in the media and on social media, urging the public to avoid rumors and respect his medical privacy.
According to the sources, Gen Bajwa was feeling unwell on the evening of Monday, February 9, but went for his routine walk and exercise. Later, he felt nauseous, went to the restroom, vomited, and fainted. Bleeding from his ears was reported, and he was transferred to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) within 15 minutes.
Sources added that he had three hairline fractures in the skull, but fortunately, no brain clots were present. He is receiving proper medical care.
ISPR previously confirmed that the former army chief is under treatment at CMH following the fall at his residence.
