Five suspects detained in Islamabad over businessman's murder

Islamabad police have taken five suspects into custody for investigation in the murder case of a well-known businessman, Aamir Awan, who was murdered in a shootout yesterday. Aamir Awan was the owner and managing director of a private motor company’s showroom in Aabpara.

The police have recorded the statements of the victim’s wife and security guards in the ongoing investigation. The police investigation into the case continues with the security guard who was on duty during the time of the murder.

The police have recovered weapons from the suspects in custody, and it is under investigation whether these individuals were directly involved in the murder or not.

The sources stated that according to the victim’s family, four to five armed men had entered their farmhouse, and the security guard was locked in his room.

The criminals had cut the grill of one of the window grills. Awan had attempted to resist the criminals when they opened fire. Awan was immediately taken to Shifa International Hospital, but he died.

The police authorities stated that according to the initial investigation, it was clear that the deceased had been shot twice, one in the leg and another in the stomach. The family had not yet stated that anything had been stolen from the house.

The authorities have collected the post-mortem samples and have collected all the CCTV footage. The police have geo-fenced the area and formed a special team to track and arrest the criminals.
