FM Dar reiterates Pakistan's commitment to regional peace under Islamabad MoU in call with Saudi counterpart

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to fostering peace and stability in the region under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during a telephone conversation with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud on Sunday.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), the two leaders held detailed discussions on recent regional developments and voiced concern over the evolving situation. During the conversation, Dar emphasized Pakistan's determination to continue working for regional peace in line with the Islamabad MoU.
The foreign minister also extended Pakistan's condolences over a helicopter crash in Saudi Arabia that claimed the lives of 14 people. He conveyed sympathies on behalf of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir, the government, and the people of Pakistan.
Prince Faisal expressed gratitude for Pakistan's gesture of solidarity and appreciated the condolences. He also conveyed his desire to visit Pakistan at the earliest mutually convenient opportunity, an invitation warmly welcomed by Dar, who expressed hope that the visit would take place soon.
Earlier the same day, European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas also spoke with Dar by telephone, expressing serious concern over recent ceasefire violations.
She stressed the importance of keeping communication channels open while discussing the rapidly changing regional situation and commended Pakistan's efforts that led to the signing of the Islamabad MoU.
During the call, Dar briefed Kallas on Pakistan's ongoing diplomatic initiatives aimed at promoting regional peace and outlined the country's efforts to support a comprehensive framework for lasting peace and stability in the Middle East.
