Four bodies recovered from manhole in Karachi

On the second day of the New Year, four bodies were recovered in Karachi, including those of two women, a man and a child.
DIG South Asad Raza stated that the bodies were found inside a manhole near Mai Kolachi Phatak in Karachi. According to initial assessments, all four bodies are believed to be 10 to 15 days old.
The deceased include one man, two women and one child.
Edhi Foundation volunteers, along with the police, retrieved the bodies from the manhole and shifted them to a nearby hospital. Investigations are currently underway to determine the cause of death and to establish the identities of the victims.
Police have sealed off the area and begun collecting further evidence. At this stage, it remains unclear whether the incident was accidental or the result of some other circumstances.
Further details are expected following the completion of investigations.
Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has taken notice of the incident involving the recovery of four bodies from a drain in Karachi’s Maripur area.
Expressing deep sorrow over the incident, he directed the police and relevant authorities to carry out an immediate and thorough investigation.
The Chief Minister instructed that all aspects of the case be examined carefully to identify those responsible.
He also ordered that a detailed report be submitted without delay so that the facts can be fully established.
