Garments factory in Karachi’s Landhi EPZ collapses as blaze intensifies; two firefighters injured

The garments factory in Karachi’s Landhi area has collapsed due to the intensity of the fire, leaving two firefighters injured.
The blaze, which broke out on Thursday inside a garments factory located in the Landhi Export Processing Zone, has taken a dangerous turn.
Several sections of the building have begun to collapse as the flames continue to spread, and two firefighters were injured after being struck by falling debris.
According to rescue officials, the fire is rapidly intensifying. More than 12 snorkels and additional rescue vehicles are currently engaged in efforts to extinguish the blaze.
Upon receiving information, fire brigade teams immediately reached the site and began rescue operations.
Firefighting efforts are still underway. Due to the severity of the fire, authorities have declared it a third-degree blaze.
Rescue officials confirmed that all factory workers were safely evacuated from the building.
The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation has called in additional fire tenders from across the city to accelerate firefighting efforts, while fire teams from nearby factories have also been summoned to assist.
