Girl shoots boy for refusing to marry her in Punjab

A 22-year-old boy identified as Farooq was seriously injured after a girl opened fire on him when he declined to marry her in Punjab's Pattoki, according to local police. 

The suspect, who is said to be a close relative of the victim, fled the scene immediately after the shooting.

Injured Farooq was shifted to a tehsil headquarters hospital in critical condition.

Police confirmed his identity and stated that initial findings suggest the woman had been pressuring him to agree to the marriage. Upon his refusal, she allegedly resorted to violence.

The victim’s mother told the police and the media that the woman had been insisting on the marriage for some time and reacted aggressively when her son declined.

Pattoki police have launched a search operation to arrest the suspect and are continuing their investigation.

In a separate incident in Lodhran, a domestic argument escalated into a violent clash involving extended family members.

The dispute began when a man slapped his wife for preparing food late. In response, the woman called her brothers, who arrived at the scene and attacked the husband and his relatives.

According to Lodhran police, the attackers used sticks, bricks and axes, leaving eight members of the husband’s family injured.
