Groom drugged and looted after nikkah in Sargodha

A groom was allegedly robbed after being deceived by a fake marriage in Sargodha, Punjab.
According to police, the incident took place in the Mitha Lak area, where the groom was lured into a sham marriage and subsequently looted.
The victim stated that the nikkah ceremony was solemnised, sweets were distributed, and he was then given drug-laced sweets, after which he lost consciousness.
Upon regaining his senses, he found that the bride, her alleged brother, and the woman who had arranged the match had all disappeared.
The groom further claimed that he had paid Rs150,000 as marriage expenses and an additional Rs20,000 for the nikkah.
Police said a case has been registered against the bride, her alleged brother Umar Hayat, and the matchmaker Shahida Parveen.
Investigations are underway, and authorities have said the group involved in the fraud will be arrested soon.
