Sialkot woman brutally killed by in-laws after returning home from Italy

In a horrific incident in Sialkot, a 30-year-old pregnant woman named Zara, who had recently returned to her home in Sialkot from Italy, was killed by her mother-in-law and sister-in-law. The accused dumped her body parts in a nearby drain, said a police official.
Police said suspect Sughra Bibi was the maternal aunt of the victim.
Malik Waqas Ali, a police spokesperson, revealed that Zara’s in-laws live in Kotli Marlan village and she lived in Italy with her husband and a 30-month-old child.
“She was pregnant with her second baby and currently residing with her in-laws for a month. She has been killed over a domestic dispute with her mother-in-law,” according to police.
The police spokesperson stated that Zara's father, also an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) in the Punjab Police, attempted to contact his daughter on November 10. When he was unable to reach her, he contacted his in-laws, who informed him that Zara had left home.
However, in the CCTV footage, Zara was not seen going outside the home.
Subsequently, on November 11, Zara's father filed a missing person report with the police. The police included the victims' in-laws in the investigation as potential suspects.
After a thorugh probe and interrogration, Zara’s mother-in-law confessed that she killed the woman by suffocating her and then dismembered her body and dumped it in various places in a nearby dirty drain.
“We searched her body parts in three days as it was packed into two to three begs before throwing into the drain,” said Malik Waqas Ali.
Sughra Bibi revealed that she killed Zara accompanied by her daughter, grandson, and a man identified as Naveed, a resident of Lahore.
All suspects were taken into the police custody.
