Renowned actress and host Javeria Saud broke down in tears as she reacted to the devastating accident that claimed the lives of a young couple and their premature baby after their bike was struck by a speeding water tanker at Malir Halt in Karachi.

The newborn was delivered on the spot but did not survive.

Javeria and co-host Sahir Lodhi expressed their condolences and questioned the rising number of such severe accidents occurring regularly.

"I know how daughters are dearest to their parents because I also have a daughter," said Javeria, recalling that the victim, Zainab, 25, was the only daughter of her parents, and was about to welcome her own child into the world.

"These big trucks [heavy vehicles] run recklessly and ruin people's happiness," she lamented, referring to the incident that took place as the couple was returning home from a hospital check-up for their unborn baby.

"No one could have imagined that alongside their happiness, dreams, and desires, their lives would come to such a tragic end. The couple was crushed to death by the truck," said Javeria Saud.

She further said that it was "God's will" that the child was delivered on the spot, adding, "a newborn who had just arrived in his mother's arms was now on the road, with people desperately trying to get him medical help, but he couldn't survive," Javeria added.

Javeria raised a pressing question, "What has happened to our world, people, and country? Humanity is being destroyed everywhere in the name of genocide, robbery, and crime."

She highlighted that Muslims were being oppressed globally and were being killed. "What is happening in our country?" she asked, recalling the deadly incident of Parveen Shakir, whose car was smashed between two trailers.

"We have become monsters," she said, amid the growing brutality of such incidents happening routinely."

She extended her prayers for the family and the deceased.

Meanwhile, Sahir Lodhi called on heavy vehicle drivers to drive responsibly. "Drive with open eyes; this was not the first incident, and this was not the first family. Road accidents are increasing day by day."

He said the government should take action against this. "I don't know where are we standing; if we cannot awaken our inner humanity this month, it means something is terribly wrong," he said.
