Islamabad police have recorded the statement of Rizwana, a 15-year-old victim of domestic violence, at the Child Protection Bureau, where she was shifted after her treatment at a Lahore hospital.
Rizwana was employed in the house of former civil judge Asim, where she was allegedly subjected to severe torture, and when her condition worsened, the judge's wife handed the girl over to her mother.
In her statement, the teenage girl reportedly said that the judge would also beat her up.
"I was beaten with sticks and bats and stabbed with knives. Sometimes they didn’t even let me sleep at night and ordered me to clean the cars," she recounted the harrowing details of the torture to the investigators.
Rizwana demanded that the judge and his wife be punished in the same way they used to torture her.
The victim has not fully recovered yet as neither can she talk properly nor walk comfortably.
Meanwhile, Sarah Ahmed, the Chairperson of the Child Protection Bureau Punjab, confirmed that the Islamabad police recorded the testimony of Rizwana with her legal team in attendance.
Before recording her statement, Rizwana was reassured not to panic and advised not to alter her statement based on anyone's advice.
