Karachi: 25-year-old woman found brutally murdered in Surjani Town house

A woman, aged 25 years old, was found brutally murdered in a house in Surjani Town, Karachi on Thursday. 

The victim’s body was found with severe head injuries inside a rented residence, according to police. The victim, identified as Komal, was killed by an iron pipe by her former fiancé, Rashid, who fled the scene after murdering her.

Police reported that Rashid rented the house 12 days ago and Komal had been living there from three days until her murder. Rashid and Komal were previously engaged, but Rashid had to leave for work in Dubai soon after the engagement. Komal then married another man and annulled the engagement with Rashid.

According to the police, after the murder, Rashid confessed to the crime on a call with his mother. Komal’s parents, who reside across the house where the murder took place, were reportedly visiting relatives at the time of the attack.

Surjani Town police have registered a FIR of the heinous crime and are on a search operation to arrest Rashid.
