Karachi: Toddler dies after falling into underground water tank in Bin Qasim Town

A three-year-old girl died after falling into an underground water tank at a house in the Bin Qasim Town area of Karachi, police said on Monday.

The incident occurred near Dar Muhammad Goth, in the jurisdiction of Bin Qasim Town police station. According to details, the child fell into the tank while playing at home. Her body was shifted to a nearby hospital by an Edhi ambulance.

The deceased was identified as three-year-old Bibi Shifa, daughter of Rashid.

The SHO said that the child’s father, a labourer who works as a driver, had left for work at the time of the incident, while the mother was busy with household chores. The child reportedly fell into the underground tank while playing.

After completing legal formalities, police handed over the body to the family.
