Karachi court acquits Anmol Pinky in drug case

A Karachi court has acquitted Anmol, also known as Pinky, in a drug case dating back to 2021 after allowing her acquittal plea.

The Additional District and Sessions Court South accepted the application following arguments from Anmol’s defence counsel, who pointed out that two co-accused in the case, Ali and Fehmida, had already been acquitted in 2024.

The defence maintained that Anmol’s involvement in the case was based largely on statements attributed to the two co-accused.

Since both had subsequently been acquitted, her lawyer argued that the remaining evidence was insufficient to establish a case against Anmol.

After considering the arguments, the court approved the plea and acquitted Anmol in the case registered at Guzri Police Station in 2021.

Anmol was arrested on May 12, 2026, in a joint operation conducted by Karachi police and a federal intelligence agency in the Garden area.

Police said the operation resulted in the recovery of around 1.5 kilograms of cocaine, a 9mm pistol and chemicals allegedly used in the preparation of cocaine.

Following her arrest, authorities connected Anmol with several other cases registered in Sindh and Lahore. However, the number of cases attributed to her has differed at various stages of the investigation. A CTD interim challan submitted in July cited 21 cases.

Police and investigators have accused Anmol of involvement in drug trafficking and allegedly operating an organised drug network. The allegations against her include offences under narcotics and weapons laws, along with attempted murder and murder charges.
