Natasha Danish, the prime accused in the Karsaz accident case, filed a bail plea in a local court on Wednesday.
Natasha, through her lawyer, has requested bail, citing her history of mental health issues and previous treatments from multiple psychiatrists. The court has issued notices to the relevant parties regarding her bail application.
In the bail plea, Natasha’s lawyer argued that the charges against her are bailable and that her mental health condition should be taken into consideration when deciding on her bail. The lawyer also submitted medical certificates and records detailing Natasha’s treatment history from a private hospital as evidence.
On a related note, the court granted interim bail to Danish Iqbal, Natasha’s husband, who is also implicated in the Karsaz accident case. The East court approved his bail application with a surety bond set at Rs 100,000.
The case has gained significant attention due to the severity of the incident. Natasha Danish is accused of running over Amna Arif, Imran Arif, and injuring five others on Karsaz Road. She is currently in judicial custody, following orders from a Karachi East court, which also mandated her appearance in court.
In a recent development, the Karachi police added another charge to the case against Natasha Danish. Initially, she was booked for the deaths of Imran Arif, 60, and his daughter Amna Arif, who were tragically killed near the Karsaz area on August 19.
According to investigators, the incident occurred while Natasha was traveling from her home in DHA Scheme-I to her in-laws’ residence, a short distance of about 3-4 kilometers.
Moreover, last week, medical reports confirmed that Natasha was under the influence of methamphetamine (commonly known as crystal meth) at the time of the accident, further complicating her legal situatiion.
