Key revelations emerged during the police investigation into the murder of 17-year-old TikToker Sana Yousaf, who was shot at her residence in Islamabad. On Wednesday, a district and sessions court sent the suspect, Umar Hayat, to jail for an identity parade.
Umar Hayat was presented before Judicial Magistrate Ahmed Shehzad Gondal, where police requested physical remand and permission for an identity lineup. The court granted the request and ordered Hayat to be sent to jail for the procedure.
According to police sources, the suspect had travelled to Islamabad from Faisalabad in a rented Toyota Fortuner. However, he failed to pay the rental charges.
Following his arrest, the vehicle owner came to collect payment, only to find a few hundred rupees in the suspect’s possession.
Investigators revealed that Hayat falsely claimed to be the son of a wealthy landlord, while his father is actually a retired grade-16 government employee.

On Sana Yousaf’s birthday, Hayat showed up at her residence in Sector G-13 with cake and gifts, but she refused to meet him. Two days later, on June 2, he returned to her home and allegedly committed the murder.
After the crime, Hayat admitted to booking a bike ride, then switching to a taxi, and finally taking a bus from the lorry depot back to Faisalabad.
The shocking incident occurred just two days ago when Sana Yousaf was shot dead at her home, prompting Islamabad Police to register a murder case against an unknown suspect.
Through swift action and analysis of CCTV footage showing the suspect fleeing the scene, police identified and arrested Umar Hayat, also known as Kaka, within 24 hours. The murder weapon was also recovered.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, described the case as a major challenge for the department, noting the swift breakthrough in what initially appeared to be a blind murder.
He further disclosed that the suspect had been persistently trying to contact Sana through TikTok, but she consistently rejected his advances. Enraged by her refusal to engage with him, Hayat allegedly plotted and carried out the fatal attack.
