The case of a young man assaulted by a group of women in Lahore’s Garden Town area has taken an unexpected turn. While the Tuck shop cashier, Iqbal, has reconciled with the assailants, the victim, Yusuf, has refused to settle the matter and will pursue legal action.
Despite Yusuf’s request, the police have not yet filed a case against the women. Determined to seek justice, Yusuf has decided to approach the court to register a case. He will be accompanied by his lawyers to the court today.
The incident gained widespread attention after a video went viral, showing two women assaulting a Tuck shop employee. The women had initially accused the employee, Yusuf, of harassment. The police recorded statements from all three women and the young man.
The incident occurred on July 7 at a Tuck shop in Garden Town, Lahore. Yusuf was accused by three women of harassment while they were shopping. The women then assaulted him, called the police, and had him arrested. A case was also registered against him.
However, after the video went viral on social media and the facts came to light, the court dismissed the case and released Yusuf.
Yusuf has requested the police to file a case against the women. The police have stated that they will fulfill the legal requirements in light of the evidence.
