Lahore university student’s suicide attempt linked to love marriage dispute: report

Police have shared new details in the case of a Lahore University student who attempted suicide, linking the incident to a personal dispute over a love marriage. 

Investigators are examining the circumstances leading up to the incident, including a prolonged phone call made shortly before the attempt, as authorities continue to piece together the sequence of events.

According to police sources, the student was on a phone call for 27 minutes prior to the incident. The young man who spoke to her before the suicide attempt has now been made part of the investigation, and further progress will be made after his detailed statement is recorded.

Police sources said the matter appears to be related to a love marriage. The investigation is ongoing, and it is believed that the student jumped due to a dispute over marrying by choice. Once her condition improves, her detailed statement will also be recorded.
