Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General Tahir Farooq has taken notice of paint fading from certain sections of the Biker Lane Pilot Project and has issued a show-cause notice to the contractor.

The project used locally manufactured paint in orange and green colors for better visibility and indication.

The contractor had provided a one-year maintenance guarantee, making them responsible for free repairs and improvements within this period.

An LDA spokesperson refuted claims circulating on social media about exorbitant costs, clarifying that the local paint costs PKR 153 per square foot (with one year of free maintenance).

Imported paint would have cost PKR 1,270 per square foot.

The contractor has already begun repainting the affected sections, while the LDA has formed a technical committee to assess the paint quality and overall project execution.
