Man allegedly kills mother over delayed meal

BUREWALA: A woman was mercilessly beaten to death by her drug addict son as a result of the latter getting angry when the former told him that the lunch was still not ready.

According to reports, the incident took place in City Police Station area on Tuesday afternoon.

It is said that the accused, Allah Ditta son of Allah Rakha, came back home and asked his mother to prepare him something to eat.

When she responded to him that the lunch had not been prepared yet, he got infuriated and beat her.

As per police reports, the accused hit his mother on the head with the help of the lid of a pressure cooker. She was badly injured in the head and breathed her last at the spot.

According to reports, the daughter of the victim who tried to prevent her mother from getting hurt was also assaulted and injured.

The daughter was taken to the nearest hospital where her condition was declared stable.

Local people heard some screams coming from the house and reached there where they beat up the accused and arrested him.

Police officers soon arrived at the spot and took possession of the body.

A case has been registered against the accused, who remains in police custody.

Investigators said preliminary findings suggest the suspect was under the influence of drugs at the time of the incident.

Police have launched a detailed investigation into the case, including the suspect's alleged drug addiction and mental condition.

The brutal killing has sent shockwaves through the neighborhood, with residents expressing sorrow over the tragedy and concern over the growing menace of drug abuse in the area.
