In a tragic incident in Kohat, a father killed his newborn twin daughters because he desired a son.
According to police, the suspect confessed to the crime, stating that he did not like having daughters.
The suspect admitted to drowning the infants in a water drum before burying them. He also threatened his wife with divorce and death if she revealed the crime to anyone.
Acting on a tip-off, police arrested the suspect and, with his cooperation and judicial permission, exhumed the bodies of the deceased infants.
A post-mortem examination confirmed that water had accumulated in the infants' lungs, indicating drowning as the cause of death.
The suspect, originally from Mianwali, was employed at a private livestock farm near the village of Bhora Ghari in the outskirts of Kohat.
The shocking incident has sparked outrage and calls for justice within the community, highlighting the ongoing issue of gender-based violence and discrimination.
