A special app, named the ‘Mehfooz Muharram App’, has been prepared, which will enable residents of Islamabad to keep an eye on suspected terrorists as well as point out inadequate security arrangements and report these to the authorities.

It was stated at a meeting held in Islamabad, with Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi in the chair, to review the security arrangements made in connection with the holy month of Muharram.

It was said that apart from that, facilities for live location and image sharing had also been provided to citizens.

The meeting was also told that geo-tagging of all venues of majalis and processions had been completed and they would be monitored with the help of drones.

It was informed that a control room had been set up in the Safe City building.

Speaking on the occasion, Naqvi directed that there should be strict checking at the entry and exit points of majalis and processions. “The concerned officials should remain in the field,” he directed.

The minister also directed that proper arrangements be made for the provision of food to the police personnel.

He said that the concerned officials should remain in contact with religious scholars to ensure peace during the holy month. “There should be zero tolerance towards hate material,” the minister ordered.
