Mother slits throats of her three children in Abbottabad

In a harrowing incident, a mother cut the throats of her three minor children with a sharp instrument in Abbottabad, police said on Thursday.

According to police reports, the woman's 9-year-old son succumbed to his injuries, while her two daughters, aged 7 and 4, are in critical condition and receiving treatment at a local hospital.

The incident took place at the woman's parents' residence in the jurisdiction of Nawan police station.

Police said the suspect had arrived at her parents' house with her children. Her husband was not present at the time of the attack.

However, police have arrested the woman and are conducting further investigations. 

Authorities have revealed that the woman has a history of mental illness, which may have contributed to the horrific act.
