The charred remains of Mustafa Amir, who had been missing from Defence for a month, were located near Hub Checkpost. His body was discovered inside the trunk of his burned vehicle.
During a press conference, DIG CIA Muqaddas Haider, accompanied by officials from the CPLC, announced that substantial advancements had been made in the investigation.
Mustafa, aged 23, was abducted on January 6, after which his mother received a ransom demand.
The case was subsequently handed over to the CIA, with the CPLC providing essential support.
On February 8, law enforcement apprehended Mustafa’s acquaintance, Armaghan, following an encounter that resulted in injuries to a DSP and two officers.
During the arrest, Mustafa’s mobile phone and bloodstains on a carpet were discovered at Armaghan’s residence. Intelligence agencies also played a role in the investigation.
DIG Haider disclosed that Armaghan and another suspect, Shiraz, had been close friends since childhood and had attended school together until the seventh grade, with Mustafa also being part of their circle. A conflict at Armaghan’s home culminated in Mustafa’s murder.

His remains were subsequently placed in his own vehicle and incinerated near Hub Checkpost. Both Armaghan and Shiraz are believed to be directly involved, and further inquiries are ongoing to identify additional suspects.
The police plan to request a remand order the following day.
Forensic examinations have commenced on the bloodstains found in the room, as well as on samples taken from Mustafa’s mother for DNA analysis. While initial findings indicate that the body is indeed Mustafa’s, conclusive identification will await the DNA results.
DIG Haider emphasized that, despite Mustafa's previous involvement in a drug-related case, there is no evidence linking this homicide to any international gang or drug cartel, labeling such assertions as false.
The investigation into whether Armaghan was engaged in drug dealing is still ongoing.
