Five long months after closing down the roads and other businesses in the Kaghan Valley, the local administration and the National Highway Authority (NHA) have decided to reopen the Kaghan Highway for all kinds of traffic.
With the opening of the road network, restaurant owners and shopkeepers opened up their shutters and started their business operations again.
The whole area of Naran was inaccessible since last November due to the accumulation of heavy snow and massive glaciers, but now the situation has been rectified with the help of bulldozers and other machinery.
Right after opening up the roads, hotel managers and traders proceeded towards Naran city for preparation for the holiday season.
According to the administration, although the road up to Naran city has been cleared, arrangements for the regular arrival of tourists and their accommodation and food is underway and is expected to be completed soon.
The administration said that full provision of water, electricity, sanitation and other basic facilities is being ensured in Naran. As soon as all the facilities are completed, Naran will be opened to tourists so that they can enjoy the enchanting views of the valley without any difficulty.
On the other hand, NHA officials said that efforts to open the Kaghan Highway up to Babusar Top are ongoing. The Kaghan Highway will be made fully operational soon.
