On Thursday, a meeting was held on the halal meat export under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister.
The authorities were formally instructed to provide a clear and implement action plan aimed at boosting the exports of Halal meat, with a deadline of two weeks.
PM Shehbaz has asked for a detailed three-year implementation plan, showing how the policy will be put into action over time, not just on paper.
He wants Pakistan to gain a meaningful share of the halal meat market, both in Muslim countries and globally.
The Prime Minister emphasized that no single institution can succeed alone; effective coordination between federal ministries and provincial governments is essential.
He directed the committee to suggest practical steps to improve the meat production, cold storage facilities and other supporting infrastructure.
He stressed that halal meat production must meet international standards, especially in livestock handling and processing. PM Shehbaz also called for special measures to increase regional production, noting the need for organized production centers to boost their setup.
