Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Karachi Central visited the family of seven-year-old Sarim on Monday, following the tragic discovery of the boy's body in a water tank after he had gone missing from North Karachi.

During his visit, the SSP provided the family with updates regarding the investigation, assuring them that justice would be served as significant evidence had been uncovered.

He emphasized that those responsible would face severe consequences for their actions.

It is important to highlight that the post-mortem report indicated that Sarim had been subjected to rape, torture, and ultimately murder after being abducted.

The medical examination revealed that he had been strangled, with a broken neck and multiple injuries present on his body.

A police official from Karachi reported that the child was killed five days prior to the discovery of his remains. However, sources indicated that the special investigation committee had identified several discrepancies between the circumstantial evidence and the findings of the post-mortem report.

Sources close to the committee mentioned that a questionnaire would be forwarded to the medical-legal officer once the results of the DNA tests and chemical examination were received.

In the meantime, the special investigation committee has located Sarim's hat and ball, which he had with him at the time of his disappearance. Additionally, the committee is in discussions with senior officials regarding the establishment of a specialized medical board comprising leading doctors.
