Poverty-stricken man commits suicide after heated argument with wife over Eid shopping

In a disturbing incident, a financially distressed man in Sheikhupura committed suicide after his wife asked for money to buy clothes for Eid-ul-Fitr, police said on Friday.

According to police, the heart-wrenching incident unfolded in Daulatpura village, where tensions escalated during a conversation between the couple about the wife's desire for Eid attire.

Following the heated argument, the victim, identified as Sarfaraz, ended his life by ingesting poison pills, law enforcement officials confirmed.

According to the locals, Sarfraz was tight-lipped and when his wife asked for money for Eid shopping, he could not bear it and took the step.

Residents of the area said that Sarfaraz had been struggling financially for a long time.

However, the police handed over the victim's body to the family members after completing legal procedures.
