Several private schools in Karachi have failed to comply with the Sindh government’s revised winter school timings. Authorities claim to issue a warning to these institutions.

It was told by the officials that despite a clear notification adjusting school hours due to cold weather, many private schools across the city continue to operate on their previous timings. As a result, children are being exposed to chilly mornings, consequently denying them the relief intended under the winter timing policy.

The matter has been reported to the Directorate of Private Institutions, Sindh, after multiple complaints from parents and students of private schools. A circular has been released, warning private school administrations to strictly follow the official notification issued by the authorities.

Under the directive, all public and private educational institutions are required to begin classes at 9 am, starting from January 12 to January 26.

Non-compliance by private schools will be met with legal action.

Parents have expressed concern over child well-being, urging authorities to ensure uniform implementation of the policy in all institutions, private or public.
