'Robber' beaten to death in Karachi's Korangi area

Citizens foiled a robbery attempt in Karachi's Korangi area on Thursday, beating one suspected robber to death and detaining another before handing him over to police.

According to the police, three armed men were allegedly robbing people within the limits of Zaman Town police station when local residents intervened and overpowered two of the suspects.

The police said that one of the suspects died after being assaulted by the crowd, while the other, who was injured, was taken into custody and handed over to police.

Investigators said the third suspect managed to escape. A weapon was recovered from the deceased suspect, police added.

The incident came hours after a similar episode in Karachi's Gulistan-e-Jauhar, where residents also foiled an alleged robbery attempt, leaving one suspected robber dead and another injured before he was arrested by police.
