Son of Karachi cop turns out to be the ringleader of robbery gang

Two dacoits arrested three days ago in a shootout with police in Kalri area of Lyari, are members of a robbery gang led by the son of a Karachi cop.

During the investigation, arrested suspects, Shahjahan and Murad exposed details about their eight-member dacoit gang. 

The probe revealed that Moiz, the gang's leader, has a father and two brothers who are all police officers.

The accused have admitted to the police that they injured and killed several citizens by shooting them during the robbery.

During a clash with Kharadar police, one of the gang's accomplices was injured and arrested. 

The gang is also responsible for crimes in other areas like Clifton, Lyari, and Pehlwan Goth.

According to the police, the suspects robbed a Pehlwan Goth medical store several months ago and a Clifton fast food branch last year.

Police also recovered CCTV footage of the robberies. In one incident, the suspects contacted a Baghdad-based businessman for a deal but robbed him of over 4 lakh rupees.

The other suspects are involved in multiple robberies in District East, and Central.

After committing the crimes, the mastermind behind the gang, Moiz went into hiding in Hazara Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to evade arrest.
