TW: Mob burns suspect @live after resident k!lled during robbery attempt

A disturbing video emerged on social media showing a suspect first being tied up with a pole and then beaten badly by a mob in Orangi town, before he was eventually set on ablaze.

The action was taken against the suspected robber when he allegedly shot a resident to death during mugging.

According to the eyewitnesses, the incident took place on Monday near Sector 7-F, Orangi town. Abdul Hannan, a resident of that area, was leaving for work around 8 am when two robbers mugged him and, during the clash, shot him dead.

Upon hearing the gunshots, residents somehow managed to seize one of the suspects, while the accompanied robber escaped. The incident enraged the residents, and they tied the suspect to an electricity pole and set him on fire.

The police were not present during the entire scene. However, they arrived after the suspect had already been set ablaze and attempted to save himself. Later, the suspect was shifted to Abassi Shaheed Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police registered two cases: One for the murder of Abdul Hannan and the other against the suspected robber. The FIR for Hannan’s murder was lodged by his father-in-law, who stated that Hannan was being mugged at gunpoint, where he resisted and was shot dead by one of the robbers.

Police said inquiries are underway, including efforts to trace the escaped accomplice.
