Youth fakes robbery after losing uncle’s treatment money in gambling

PATOKI: Police have uncovered a young man’s attempt to stage a robbery after he allegedly lost money collected for his uncle’s medical treatment in gambling.

According to police, the incident took place in Patoki, where the young man made a false call to the police emergency helpline, claiming that he had been robbed.

Police said the youth had collected money for his uncle’s treatment but allegedly lost the funds while gambling.

In an attempt to conceal the loss, he reportedly fabricated a robbery story and called 15, the police emergency helpline, to report the alleged incident.

Police said a case has been registered against the youth for making a false robbery report, and further investigation is underway.
