Zafar Abbas criticizes delayed search operation at Gul Plaza

Zafar Abbas said that many people may not even receive complete bodies—perhaps only body parts. 

Zafar Abbas gave a strong reaction in support of the people who are still waiting for the bodies of their loved ones outside Gul Plaza.

“I am asking just one question: is preparation being made to demolish the building in two days and hand over one body part to each family? Last night, I showed live footage from 3:00 to 3:25 showing that no search operation was taking place. Yesterday, from 3 pm to 11 pm, there was no rescue organization present whose responsibility it was.

Zafar Abbas alleged that people themselves went inside the building to find their loved ones, “I have seen videos of people collecting the body parts of the deceased ones.”

He added, “This morning at 8 am, machinery arrived and began loading debris into dumpers because they know that the news press will arrive at 9 am.”

He asked, “Where is the association camp for this incident? Install lights inside the building and carry out rescue operations throughout the night.

He further added, “These were the people of Karachi, who pay taxes. I feel that the building will now be demolished, and each family will be handed a cart saying that the body was not found, and that this part might belong to your family member—end of story. Where are the rescue workers from the 500–600 institutions?"
