Former Pakistan opener Ahmed Shehzad became emotional on live TV show after going unpicked for the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

He spoke candidly about the disappointment of missing out on the tournament.

TV show host Tabish Hashmi asked him how he felt about being out of the league for the past three seasons despite previously being part of a title-winning PSL side.

Responding to the question, the cricketer said, “I feel very sad for myself. I am happy when I see my fellow players, but I become upset for myself," he said, breaking down in tears.

Explaining what hurt him most, Shehzad added, “What pains me the most is that my son is now nine years old and he wants to see me play.”

Seeing his reaction, the host left his seat and walked over to console him with a hug as the cricketer tried to compose himself on air.

Wiping away tears, Shehzad continued, “My son sleeps beside me and, just to comfort me, he says, ‘Dad, I remember you used to play, but now I will remember you properly.’”
