Babar Azam, Rizwan to get Rs6.57mln per month salary

Pakiatan cricketers Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, who are in the A category of the central contracts list, will now receive a monthly total of PKR 6.57 million, excluding match fees.
PCB recently announced central contracts for national cricketers after significant delays, though some notable names such as Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, and Sarfaraz Ahmed were left out. The board plans to obtain electronic approval for the contracts from players before they leave for Australia.
The updated contracts retain previous match fees and salaries, but as per last year’s formula, the ICC share amount has increased. Compensation per Test match is now PKR 1.257 million, PKR 644,620 for ODIs, and PKR 418,584 for T20 matches.
Under Category A, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan will each receive PKR 4.5 million as their base salary, with an increased ICC share of PKR 2.07 million monthly, up from PKR 1.53 million. Thus, their total monthly earnings will be PKR 6.57 million.
Category B players, including Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Shan Masood, have a monthly salary of PKR 3 million, with an added ICC share of PKR 1.552 million, resulting in a total of PKR 4.552 million.
In Category C, Abdullah Shafique, Abrar Ahmed, Haris Rauf, Nauman Ali, Saim Ayub, Sajid Khan, Salman Ali Agha, Saud Shakeel, and Shadab Khan will receive a base salary of PKR 1 million, with an ICC share addition of PKR 1.035 million, totaling PKR 2.035 million per month.
Category D players, including Aamir Jamal, Haseebullah, Kamran Ghulam, Khurram Shehzad, Mir Hamza, Muhammad Abbas Afridi, Muhammad Ali, Muhammad Harira, Muhammad Irfan Khan, Muhammad Wasim Jr., and Usman Khan, will receive a monthly salary of PKR 750,000, with an additional ICC share of PKR 517,500, making their total PKR 1.267 million per month.
PCB's central contract holders will also receive substantial compensation for domestic matches: PKR 628,898 for a four-day match, PKR 322,310 for a one-day match, and PKR 209,292 for a T20 match.
