Boxer Amir Khan puts his £12.5 million luxury wedding hall up for sale due to financial loss

Boxer Amir Khan has put his £12.5 million wedding hall in Bolton up for sale after the project failed to generate expected profits due to its unfavourable location.

Khan purchased the property for £11.5 million in early 2024 and named the venue "The Balmyana", which hosted only one wedding in three months.

Amir Khan announced the sale on the microblogging platform X, where he referred to the property as his “Dubai-style” tower.

The venue has four floors, including three dedicated wedding floors and a rooftop events terrace.

The hall is lavishly decorated, featuring palm trees, a waterfall, and glass walls. However, despite its grandeur, the location could not attract potential clients.

According to British media reports, the surrounding area does not complement the luxury venue, with an auto parts shop and car wash located nearby.

Before Khan's purchase, the vicinity was littered with garbage and broken furniture.

The 37-year-old athlete had considered hosting boxing events at the hall but abandoned those plans. However, he ultimately decided to invite bids for the sale of the property.
