Pakistani international batter Haider Ali has been cleared in an alleged rape case in the United Kingdom after police found insufficient evidence to proceed with the charges.

Greater Manchester Police and the Crown Prosecution Service confirmed that the investigation has been closed, allowing the 24-year-old to regain his passport and resume travel.

Ali was arrested on August 4 after a British-Pakistani woman accused him of raping her at a Manchester hotel. The complainant told police she first met Ali on July 23, 2025, in Manchester, and that they met again on August 1 in Ashford. She filed her complaint four days later.

During questioning, Ali denied the allegations, stating that he knew the woman and considered her a friend. Police sources confirmed that the batter, who had been provisionally suspended by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) during the investigation, is no longer under any restrictions.

Ali was arrested at the Spitfire County Cricket Ground in Kent and taken to Canterbury Police Station before being released pending inquiries. Following the police review, authorities determined there was not enough evidence to support the case.
