Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan recently opened up about his heartwarming love story and revealed that he waited and prayed for his ideal partner for eight years before tying the knot.

The Green Shirts' opening duo Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam appeared in a recent interview, where Rizwan was asked to share his love story.

Pakistani skipper, in a lighthearted jab, said, "Every time it's all about my marriage! Now it's your turn."

Rizwan chuckled and replied, "My prayers are with you."

The 32-year-old cricketer then elaborated on his story, explaining that a firm belief in God helped him through his eight-year struggle and shared how his consistent prayers finally led him to his wife.

Rizwan revealed that initially, his wife's family was not convinced for the marriage.

He explained that love stories often face challenges, and coming from a conservative background added another layer of difficulty.

"I was the first one in my family to have a love marriage, and my brother followed in my footsteps," he said.

The right-arm batter kept the details private, but said, "Faith played a big role in my journey. I prayed a lot, believing that with unwavering conviction, things can work out."

Rizwan, emphasising the importance of faith, stated that this belief system guides him even in cricket.

He advised that maintaining a strong faith is crucial for anyone striving to achieve their dreams.
