The decision to stage the match between Pakistan and India in the T20 World Cup helped the ICC save $174 million.

The estimated loss had been calculated on the basis of the gate money and other sponsorships received by the broadcasters. Following the announcement of the decision to reinstate the Pakistan-India match, air fares between Colombo and Mumbai had seen a surge.

Indian media sources mentioned that the price for the Mumbai and Colombo matches was raised by PKR10,000 to 60,000, and the hotel business in Colombo was also happy with the match.

T20 World Cup: The government has permitted the national team to play against India.

Earlier, with Pakistan having vowed to boycott the match, attempts had been made to cancel hotel bookings. Meanwhile, cricket enthusiasts had inquired about the refund policy for tickets to the Pakistan-India match.

In an official statement, the government said Pakistan will play against India in the T20 World Cup, and the national team has been instructed to play the match scheduled for February 15.

Earlier, Pakistan had announced a boycott of the match against India.
